Are MOTs Still Taking Place During The Coronavirus Outbreak?

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has confirmed that MOT tests are going ahead and drivers will still need to get an MOT completed amid the coronavirus lockdown.

This announcement by DVSA comes after the Prime Minister’s speech on Monday 23rd March, in which he said that people may only leave home to exercise once a day, to travel to and from work where absolutely necessary, to shop for essential items, and to fulfil any medical or care needs.

MOT garages have been deemed an essential service by the government, which means they'll continue to stay open. Post Offices and banks are also allowed to remain open.

We will keep you updated as the situation evolves but for now, all MOTs for cars, motorbikes, light vans are still required.
