How long does a MOT test usually take?

On average, a MOT test will take between 45 and 60 minutes. In the event that your vehicle fails the tests and repairs need to be made, this will take longer. A test centre will not let you drive away a car that has failed a MOT unless you’re taking the car straight to the garage to have the faults fixed. The second test will usually take less than an hour providing all the essential repairs are fixed.
